“Please quote this product” with one photograph is rarely enough for an accurate custom-manufacturing price. A useful quotation must identify what will be made, how it will be finished, how many units are required and where they will go.

Use this checklist for custom polyresin, soft PVC and metal projects.

1. Product Type and Intended Use

Tell us whether the item is a figurine, snow globe, magnet, keychain, badge, coin, bottle opener, bar mat, coaster or coordinated gift set. Explain whether it is a retail souvenir, promotional giveaway, collectible or functional product.

Intended use influences material, structure, testing and packaging.

2. Artwork and Reference Files

Send vector artwork where possible, plus front, side and back references for sculptural products. Identify trademarks, colors, text and details that cannot be changed.

If only a concept image is available, state that production artwork or 3D development is required.

3. Dimensions and Structure

Provide height, width, depth and thickness. For figurines, include the base size. For soft PVC, identify 2D, layered relief or full 3D. For metal, identify flat, relief, openwork or moving structure.

4. Quantity per Design

State quantity for each SKU—not only the combined total. TUOYUAN supports small-batch trial orders of approximately 200–500 pieces per design or new SKU, subject to product and production conditions.

5. Material and Finish

Specify material preference if known. Include painting style, Pantone colors, plating, gloss or matte finish, printing, antique effect, glitter, glow, epoxy or other special effects.

If you want us to recommend the material, explain the desired appearance, function, weight and budget position.

6. Attachments and Function

Identify key rings, magnets, pin backs, straps, clips, opener components, moving parts or mixed-material assemblies. Functional items require more information than a front image shows.

7. Packaging

State whether you need individual bags, backing cards, gift boxes, retail window boxes, counter displays, molded inserts or export-only packaging. Packaging affects unit cost, carton volume and freight.

8. Destination and Compliance

Provide the destination market, intended users and any retailer testing manual. Requirements such as REACH, CPSIA, EN 71, RoHS or customer-specific restrictions apply only in the appropriate product context.

9. Delivery Information

Give the required arrival date and destination postal code or port. Sampling, production, inspection, packing and shipping must all fit inside the plan.

10. Commercial Requirements

Tell us the requested trade term, inspection arrangement, documentation and whether confidentiality is required before detailed artwork is shared.

Payment terms are confirmed according to the project, order value and commercial agreement.

If the full specification is not ready, start with:

• Product image or artwork
• Target dimensions
• Quantity per design
• Destination
• Intended use
• Target delivery date

We can then identify missing decisions and state the assumptions required for a preliminary quotation.

An accurate brief does not only improve pricing. It reduces revisions, prevents unsuitable process choices and creates a more reliable schedule.
