A museum, zoo, attraction or brand may need one visual theme across resin figurines, soft PVC keychains, metal badges, magnets and retail packaging. The challenge is not simply producing more items. It is maintaining a coherent collection across materials that reproduce color, depth and texture differently.

Start with a Collection Brief

Define the audience, retail position, products, quantity per SKU, target price range, launch date and destination. Identify which design elements must remain consistent and which may adapt to the material.

Assign Each Design to the Right Material

Build a Shared Visual Standard

Prepare a collection guide covering:

• Approved logos and character proportions
• Pantone references
• Line style and typography
• Copyright and back markings
• Packaging hierarchy
• Required collection name and SKU labels

Physical colors will not appear identical across painted resin, molded PVC, enamel-style fill, metal plating and printed paper. The goal is controlled coordination, not a false promise of perfect material-to-material color identity.

Coordinate Samples and Revisions

Approve production artwork for each SKU, then review samples as a group. A badge may be technically correct but still look too dark beside a pastel resin figurine. Group review reveals collection-level inconsistencies.

Use clear revision numbers and do not release mass production until each SKU has an approved reference.

Plan Packaging as a System

Decide whether products are sold individually, as gift sets or in counter displays. Shared graphics can reduce design fragmentation, while product-specific inserts protect different shapes.

Packaging also controls carton volume. A visually large box may reduce the freight advantage of consolidating several product categories.

Can Different Materials Ship Together?

Yes. Resin products can be packed and shipped with magnets, keychains and other souvenirs when production schedules, packing requirements and shipping arrangements are compatible.

Consolidation can reduce duplicate freight and handling costs, but savings depend on carton volume, weight, destination and delivery schedule. Heavy resin cartons, fragile products or different completion dates may make separate shipments more practical.

Manage Different Production Timelines

Each material has its own artwork, tooling, sample and production route. Build the launch schedule around the slowest approved SKU and reserve time for collection review, packaging and transport.

If the launch date is fixed, prioritize critical SKUs and consider whether a partial shipment is commercially justified.
