Custom product pricing is built from material, tooling, production labor, finishing and quantity. Material and finishing choices drive unit cost, while tooling is a first investment spread across the order. Order quantity determines how those setup costs are absorbed, so the same design can produce very different unit prices at different volumes.
Why Tooling and MOQ Matter
Tooling covers molds, dies and other setup items prepared for a specific design. MOQ reflects the minimum order that makes the tooling and production route practical. Confirming both early helps a supplier give a meaningful price rather than a number based on assumed volume.
